School’s out y’all
Recently, Quinta Brunson spoke on the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” show, where she revealed how she was inspired to do this crossover.
“I was very inspired by watching a lot of shows over the pandemic. I was binging Family Matters and Full House and stuff like that, and I was shocked at how shocked I was when Steve Urkel showed up on the Full House set. I was screaming at my TV.”
Something came up online, and he was like, ‘Someone said this seems like a Sunny episode, this seems like an Abbott episode,’” Brunson recalled. “And then we kind of connected over that. And then we really connected in person, and I just get along with him and his team so well, that we felt like we could actually do this.”
No details have been revealed on if the crossover will happen in either “Abbott Elementary” or ” It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia”, nor any other details, such as what the plot will be or when it will be released.
Both shows are set in Philadelphia, with “Abbott Elementary” telling stories about a group of dedicated, passionate teachers — and a slightly tone-deaf principal — find themselves thrown together in a Philadelphia public school where, despite the odds stacked against them, they are determined to help their students succeed in life. Though these incredible public servants may be outnumbered and underfunded, they love what they do — even if they don’t love the school district’s less-than-stellar attitude toward educating children.
While “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia” tells the story of five toxically co-dependent and selfishly motivated friends run a decrepit Irish bar that bears witness to all kinds of trickery.
Both shows are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States. “Abbott Elementary” is also available exclusively on Disney+ in many countries around the world.
