
Aaron Katersky Promoted To ABC News Chief Investigative Correspondent
Disney has announced that ABC News has promoted award-winning journalist Aaron Katersky to chief investigative correspondent based in New York, reporting across programs and platforms, including “Good Morning America,” “World News Tonight with David Muir,” “Nightline,” “20/20,” “GMA 3: What You Need to Know,” ABC News’ 24/7 streaming channel ABC News Live, ABC Audio and ABC News Digital, which can be found on Disney+.
Katersky will lead coverage for ABC News’ investigative unit covering public safety, political corruption and the criminal justice system. Most recently, he broke news on the United Healthcare CEO murder case in New York and President Donald Trump’s trials. Last year, Katersky also reported extensively on the first and second assassination attempts on President Trump.
ABC News President Almin Karamehmedovic said in a statement:
“Aaron is a one-of-a-kind and formidable journalist who is always one step ahead, quietly working behind the scenes on the next scoops that make the loudest impact. With his extensive investigative experience, he will continue to break stories that dominate the news cycle for years to come.”
In 2003, Katersky joined the network as an ABC News Radio correspondent embedding with U.S. Marines in Iraq during the war. He then quickly rose through the ranks to become the platform’s breaking news anchor and correspondent for close to two decades, leading coverage of all the most important domestic and international stories during this time. Katersky has reported from hotspots around the world on wars in Afghanistan, Israel and Ukraine, the Arab Spring in Egypt, and terror attacks in Belgium, France and the U.K. In the United States, Katersky has also reported on the ground from major mass shootings and political conventions since 1996. Prior to ABC News, he reported for radio stations from across the country, including Houston, Syracuse, and Southeastern Massachusetts.
