“The Countdown To Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast” Coming Soon To Disney+
Disney is continuing to build out its original podcast lineup with the announcement of a new Marvel show to get fans ready for the upcoming film “Avengers: Doomsday”.
Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Doomsday hits cinemas in time for Christmas on December 18th 2026 and onto Disney+ in early 2027. To get fans ready, Marvel is launching an official rewatch podcast, setting the stage for the showdown to come.
It will be hosted by Frank Alvarez and Iman Vellani — AKA Ms Marvel — and titled “the Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast” It will take fans behind the scenes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, revisiting all the major moments leading up to Doomsday.
Over the course of five episodes, Alvarez and Vellani will look back at a key film from the MCU, recapping all the fan-favourite moments and discussing each film’s cultural legacy.
The first episode will launch August 27th 2026, with new episodes airing weekly on Thursdays. The fifth episode, discussing Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame, will coincide with the September 25th 2026 re-release of Avengers: Endgame Encore in theatres.
“The Countdown to Avengers: Doomsday Official Podcast” will be available on Disney+ and YouTube, with the audio-only version available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts.
Roger’s Take: Rewatching podcasts have become a great extension to established brands, and Disney seems to have noticed the success of these, so it is getting in on this trend with the launch of this new show, which is essentially an advertisement for “Avengers: Doomsday” and Disney+,
