Marvel To Re-Release “Avengers: Endgame” With New Footage

During the Walt Disney Studios showcase panel at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Marvel Studios announced that just ahead of the release of “Avengers: Doomsday”, it would be re-releasing “Avengers: Endgame” in cinemas in September.

Marvel’s President Kevin Feige also revealed that “Avengers: Endgame” would be the first title to be released using its new Infinity Vision certification for premium large format (PLF) theatres, which means they meet a certain standard for quality.

This re-release of “Avengers: Endgame” is going to be a little different, as it will include some brand-new footage, including deleted scenes and much more.  Though it’s not clear what this footage will be, but it’s expected to interconnect with the upcoming “Avengers” movie, since that takes place straight afterwards.

The epic conclusion to the Infinity Saga is a critically acclaimed worldwide phenomenon. This dramatic showdown pits the Avengers against the universe’s most powerful villain, Thanos. After devastating events wiped out half the world’s population and fractured their ranks, the remaining heroes struggle to move forward. But they must come together to restore order and harmony in the universe and bring their loved ones back.

The movie stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Brie Larson, Tom Holland, Karen Gillan, Zoe Saldana and Evangeline Lilly.

Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Endgame” is produced by Kevin Feige and directed by Anthony and Joe Russo. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo, Trinh Tran, Jon Favreau, James Gunn and Stan Lee are the executive producers, and Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely wrote the screenplay.

The re-release of “Avengers: Endgame” will arrive in cinemas on September 25th 2026, and we should expect this new version to arrive on Disney+ in time for the release of “Avengers: Doomsday” in December.

Roger’s Take: Re-releasing “Avengers: Endgame” ahead of the release of “Doomsday” does make some sense, especially if they are going to retrospectively add some scenes to connect it better with “Doomsday”, since originally the plan was that the main villain was going to be Kang.   The only thing with the re-release is that, no doubt, within hours of coming out, there will be bad-quality videos all across social media with those scenes, so many people might just wait for the new version to arrive on Disney+, since they’ll want a boost in viewership to bump up “Doomsday” ticket sales.
