Phoebe Dynevor To Star In New 20th Century Studios Film “Beach Road”
Disney’s 20th Century Studios is developing a brand new film called “Beach Road”, which is based on Emily Henry’s New York Times bestselling novel.
This romantic comedy follows January Andrews, a successful romance novelist who struggles with grief and writer’s block after her father’s death and the discovery of secrets he’s long kept hidden. While spending the summer in his Michigan beach house to prepare it for sale, she unexpectedly reconnects with Gus Everett, an author who was once her rival in college. Both creatively stuck, they agree to a writing challenge over the summer, swapping literary genres while promising that there will be no romance between them. Of course, you know what they say about the best-laid plans.
Deadline has revealed that Phoebe Dynevor has joined the cast as the lead role of January Andrews. Phoebe has recently starred in Liongates’s “Anniversary”, along with “The Village”, “Famous” and “Remain”.
The new film is being directed by Yulin Kuang, who has recently worked on Netflix’s “People We Meet On Vacation” and Yulin is also adapting the script. It will be produced by Neal H. Moritz, who will be producing via his Original Films. Karina Rahardja will executive produce. Sarah Shepard and Catherine Hughes are overseeing the project for 20th Century Studios.
No other details on this project have been revealed, such as when it might be released, either in cinemas or direct on Hulu/Disney+.
