20th Television Developing New “Don’t Get High” Pilot
20th Television is developing a new pilot for a comedy show called “Don’t Get High”, which is being created by Megan Ganz, who previously worked on the hit series, “Mythic Quest”.
“Don’t Get High” follows an alpha dork and her merry gang of dweebs who start an anti-drug group at their high school to make friends and influence people. It doesn’t go well.
The cast for the pilot has been revealed, which will include Tony Hale, Ashley Brooke, Olivia Gill, Oscar Williams, Erin Morton and Daniel Rosales as series regulars, along with Michelle Buteau, Casey Wilson, Dan Thompson, Macoy Stewart and Chloe Hakola as guest stars.
Tony Hale will play the role of Officer Popkey, a school cop, who takes his job way too seriously. Tony has previously starred in the Disney+ Original series, “The Mysterious Benedict Society” and the “Toy Story 4” spinoff, “Forky Asks A Question”.
Ashley Brooke will be playing the role of Penny, an alpha dweeb on a mission to take down the cool kids. Ashley has previously starred in the National Geographic series, “A Small Light”. Olivia Gill is going to portray Lennon, the most popular girl in school and Penny’s arch-nemesis. Olivia has previously starred in “Ava”. Oscar Williams plays Dylan, a brooding bad boy, while Erin Morton will play Lane, Penny’s eccentric and loyal best friend. And Daniel Rosales is going to play the role of Trevor, Penny’s other BFF, a misanthrope who’d rather fade into the background.
For the guest stars, Michelle Buteau will play Principal Fishbach, a put-upon high school principal. With Casey Wilson playing Marie, Penny’s loving mother. Dan Thompson will portray Hook, Varsity QB and Lennon’s himbo boyfriend. With Macoy Stewart playing Ben, effortlessly confident and ultra chic co-captain of the cheerleading team. And finally, Chloe Hakola will play Vicki, Ben’s co-captain and infamous party girl.
Megan Ganz will serve as the show’s writer, executive producer and showrunner. Adam Fishbach and Mara Herron also serve as executive producers.
As with any pilot, there could be some creative changes following the filming, and the nature of pilots means it’s possible that this show might never get made. Should the pilot get picked up for a series, we should expect to see it released on Hulu and Disney+.
