Pixar’s “Elio” Disney+ Release Date Announced

Disney has announced that the latest Pixar animated movie, “Elio”, will soon be coming to Disney+ around the world later this month.

The movie follows Elio, a space fanatic with an active imagination, who finds himself on a cosmic misadventure where he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who he is truly meant to be.

The space-based story of Elio Solís comes home to Earth-based screens everywhere, inviting families into the “Communiverse” anytime they seek a sense of wonder. Journey with imaginative, alien-obsessed Elio as he makes first contact with extraterrestrials who mistake him for Earth’s leader and share in the joy as he sees his lifelong dream come true.

The latest chapter in the Disney and Pixar storytelling legacy reaches interstellar realms and invites viewers to expand their horizons while also learning to appreciate the connections they have right here at home, no interplanetary travel required. Certified Fresh and Verified Hot by Rotten Tomatoes, the heartwarming film can now be experienced by families everywhere in the comfort of home.

Pixar’s “Elio” will be coming to Disney+ on September 17th 2025, which is around 90 days from its initial theatrical release.   The movie was recently released on digital platforms for purchase. 

Roger’s Take: It’s great to see “Elio” will be hitting Disney+ soon, since the movie sadly completely underperformed at the box office earlier this year, as it failed to capture audiences’ attention while the more popular “Lilo & Stitch” took most of the attention of families.   While the film isn’t one of Pixar’s best, since it suffered from major creative changes during the production process, it’s a fun family movie that will no doubt reach a much bigger audience when it arrives on Disney+.
