Searchlight Pictures Picks Up New Thriller “Incidents”
Disney’s Searchlight Pictures was able to pick up the rights in an intense bidding war for a new psychological thriller spec from William Gillies called “Incidents”.
Officially, no details on the upcoming project have been announced, but according to Deadline, the film is about a woman who escapes from an attempted abduction with no clear motive, vowing thereafter to find her kidnapper and discover why she’s been targeted.
No other details on the project, such as who will be working on it, or starring in it have been revealed. Nor any indication of when it might be released, either theatrically or on Disney+.
William Gilles has previously worked on another thriller called “Hallow Road”, which premiered at this year’s SXSW event, and he has a number of other projects set to be released soon, including a new Netflix show called “The Lord’s Day” and a film called “Who Goes There”.
There was a lot of interest from multiple studios in this project, with eleven different offers on the table, but Searchlight Pictures was able to secure the deal.
