Selena Gomez Returning For Disney’s “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” Season Two

Filming is currently underway in Los Angeles on the second season of the “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place,” which is a continuation of the Emmy Award-winning Disney show, “Wizards of Waverly Place.” 

“Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” follows an adult Justin Russo, who has chosen to lead a normal, mortal life with his family, Giada, Roman and Milo. When Justin’s sister Alex brings Billie to his home seeking help, Justin realizes he must dust off his magical skills to mentor the wizard-in-training while also juggling his everyday responsibilities – and safeguarding the future of the Wizard World.

The series stars David Henrie (as Justin Russo), Janice LeAnn Brown (as Billie), Alkaio Thiele (as Roman Russo), Max Matenko (as Milo Russo), Taylor Cora (as Winter) and Mimi Gianopulos (as Giada Russo).

The show is executive-produced by Selena Gomez, who starred in the original series and returned to make a cameo appearance in the first season.  Today, the actress took to social media to confirm that she will also be returning to star in the second season.

“Just feels right…” she wrote in her Instagram story, which shows her on the set holding a magic wand.

Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas serve as writers and executive producers, along with executive producers Gary Marsh, Jonas Agin, and David Henrie. “Wizards of Waverly Place” was created by Todd Greenwald.

The first season of “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place”, along with previous seasons of “Wizards of Waverly Place”, are available to stream on Disney+.   No release date for the second season has been announced yet.
