The nominations for the 94th Academy Awards are going to be revealed today during a special event, which will be hosted by Emmy-winning actor-comedian Leslie Jordan (“Will & Grace,” “The Help”) and Emmy-nominated actor-CEO-producer Tracee Ellis Ross (“Black-ish,” “The High Note”).

The announcement of the 94th Oscars nominations in all 23 Academy Award categories in a live presentation on Tuesday, February 8th, via global live stream on Oscar.com, Oscars.org, the Academy’s digital platforms (Twitter, YouTube, Facebook), NY and LA Switch pool ports and satellite downlink feed, and national broadcast and streaming news programs, including ABC’s Good Morning America and ABC News Live.

In a major step, this event will also be live-streamed on Disney+ in the United States at 8:15 am.

This will be the very first live stream within Disney+ and could indicate a major step forward for the streaming service.

As this could open up Disney+ to future lives streams for events like the Oscars, D23 Expo, Star Wars Celebration and much more, in addition to sports events. It also could be a further test for Disney+ in the push to add more variety to the streaming service to appeal to more subscribers.
