20th Television Developing “Young Americans” Pilot For Hulu/Disney+

20th Television is developing a brand new drama pilot called “Young Americans” for Hulu/Disney+ that is being created by Chris Hutton and Eddie O’Keefe, who were behind the Quibi series “When the Streetlights Go On.”

As the children of the nation’s elite battle it out at Capitol Crest Academy in Washington D.C., their teenage dramas begin to mirror the larger political games of their parents. Amidst the secrets, scandals, and deadly ambitions, a forbidden romance between two students from opposing political families threatens to escalate tensions to a breaking point.

According to Variety, Chris and Eddie are writing and executive producing the show, with Bruce Miller and Priscilla Porianda from White Oak Pictures also executive producing. Bruce Miller has previously worked with Hulu on “The Testaments” and “The Handmaid’s Tale”.

No other details on the series have been revealed, such as who might star in it or when it’ll go into production.

As with any pilot in development for Hulu/Disney+, not every pilot gets the go-ahead to a full series, and pilots can also go through creative changes during the development process.
