20th Century Studios Take Over “Every House Is Haunted” From Netflix
20th Century Studios has picked up the rights from Netflix for a new horror film, “Every House Is Haunted”, which is based on the Ian Rogers short story “The House on Ashley Avenue”.
The film follows an insurance investigator who tries to debunk claims that a couple’s death was caused by a haunted house, only for his doubts to be challenged by a psychic and the mysterious occurrences he witnesses with his own eyes.
According to Deadline, Jason Pagan and Andrew Deutschman have written the script for the film. Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, who previously made “Don’t Move”, are going to direct the film, and have their own pass at the script. They have taken over from Corin Hardy, who had been linked to the project while it was under Netflix.
It will be produced by Sam Raimi and Zainab Azizi from Raimi Productions, alongside Roy Lee and Andrew Childs for Vertigo Entertainment. Ian Rogers and Starlight Media are producing the project, with SVP of Production J.R. Young overseeing it and reporting to 20th President Steve Asbell.
No other details, such as who will star in it, when it will be released or if it will be released first in cinemas or directly onto Hulu/Disney+.
