20th Century Studios is developing a reboot of the 1980s classic film, “Working Girl”, and Selena Gomez is in final negotiations to produce the film.

No plot details have yet been revealed about this new film, but in the original 1988 film, the story is about what happens when a secretary’s idea is stolen by her boss, she seizes an opportunity to steal it back by pretending she has her boss’s job.  The original film starred Melanie Griffith, Harrison Ford, Sigourney Weaver and Joan Cusack.

According to Deadline, the new project is being adapted by Ilana Pena, who created the Disney+ Original series, “Diary Of A Future President”.

Selena Gomez is currently starring in the Hulu/Star Original series, “Only Murders In The Building”, which she also produces.

It’s expected that this film will be released on Disney’s streaming services, including Hulu in the United States, and as a Star Original on Disney+ internationally.

You can watch the original “Working Girl” film on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ internationally.
