One of National Geographic’s most popular documentary series is “Secrets Of The Zoo”, which gives unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to one of the nation’s largest and most popular zoos, The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.

With 2,000 employees, 10,000 animals, 6,000 veterinary cases and more than 100 animal births each year, the show tells the dramatic, heartwarming and often hilarious stories of the wildlife? and wild people, that it takes to create a loving and healthy landscape for the animals and animal lovers alike.

The series originally debuted back in 2018 and has ran for five seasons, with the last episode being released at the end of 20222. With the pandemic, it makes sense as to why filming was put on hold or paused following the fourth season, which is why the fifth season took a little longer to arrive but with it now being over two years since the show last aired, many have wondered if there will be another season.

Since the initial show started, it has also had a number of spin-off series, including “Secrets Of The Zoo: Tampa,” which ran for four seasons from 2020 through 2023. They’ve also made some other spin-offs, including “Secrets Of The Zoo: North Carolina” and “Secrets Of The Zoo: Down Under.”

According to TVLine, when asked if there are any more seasons of National Geographic’s “Secrets Of The Zoo planned”, they replied:

There are no new episodes planned at this time, but viewers can stream past seasons on Disney+.

It’s important to note that it doesn’t necessarily mean the show is cancelled, but it’s also worth pointing out that National Geographic also made two seasons of “The Magic Of Disney’s Animal Kingdom,” which is very similar. With Disney purchasing 20th Century Fox in 2019, it makes more sense for Disney to have the team make a show on its own “zoo.”

Also, in the past couple of years, Disney has been on a cost-cutting spree to reduce its spending on original content, which has impacted all of the different studios. So logically, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see National Geographic having to focus on delivering just one of these shows.

All the previous seasons of “Secrets Of The Zoo” are available to stream on Disney+ in the United States.
