This month sees the latest instalment in the popular Monsterverse franchise has been released in cinemas, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire”, which follows up the explosive showdown of “Godzilla vs. Kong” with an all-new adventure that pits the almighty Kong and the fearsome Godzilla against a colossal undiscovered threat hidden within our world, challenging their very existence—and our own. “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” delves further into the histories of these Titans and their origins, as well as the mysteries of Skull Island and beyond, while uncovering the mythic battle that helped forge these extraordinary beings and tied them to humankind forever.

The film has been directed by Adam Wingard and stars Rebecca Hall (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “The Night House”), Brian Tyree Henry (“Godzilla vs. Kong,” “Bullet Train”), Dan Stevens (“Gaslit,” “Legion,” “Beauty and the Beast”), Kaylee Hottle (“Godzilla vs. Kong”), Alex Ferns (“The Batman,” “Wrath of Man,” “Chernobyl”) and Fala Chen (“Irma Vep,” “Shang Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”).

Will “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” Be Released On Disney+?

Unfortunately for Disney fans, since “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” is created by Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures. Internationally, the film is distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures except in Japan, where the film will be distributed by Toho Co., Ltd and in mainland China, where Legendary East will distribute it.

This means that the film won’t be available on Disney+ once it has finished its theatrical run and digital release; it will be heading to Warner Brother Discovery’s streaming service, Max.

However, in the United States, several Warner Brothers titles are available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ due to a deal between the two companies, so it’s possible in a few years, the movie could become available for a limited time but nothing has been confirmed. It’s also worth noting that while Max is currently available as an add-on to Hulu, these titles aren’t available through Hulu On Disney+.

Internationally, things are much simpler since Disney doesn’t license Warner Brothers films or shows for Disney+. Therefore, we won’t see “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” released on Disney+ unless there is a major change in strategy, which is unlikely.
