When Is Pixar’s Elemental Coming To Disney+?
Pixar’s latest animated feature film is “Elemental”, which is set in Element City, where fire-, water-, land- and air-residents live together. The story introduces Ember, a tough, quick-witted and fiery young woman, whose friendship with a fun, sappy, go-with-the-flow guy named Wade challenges her beliefs about the world they live in.
The voice cast includes Leah Lewis as the fiery Ember; Mamoudou Athie as the water-guy Wade; Ronnie del Carmen as Ember’s soon-to-be retired dad, Bernie; Shila Ommi as Ember’s love-seeking mom, Cinder; Wendi McLendon-Covey as Wade’s stormy and Air-Ball-loving boss, Gale; Catherine O’Hara as Wade’s welcoming mom, Brook; Mason Wertheimer as Ember’s admiring neighbor, Clod; and Joe Pera as an overgrown city bureaucrat, Fern.
“Elemental” has ben directed by Peter Sohn, produced by Denise Ream, p.g.a., and executive produced by Pete Docter, “Elemental” features a screenplay by John Hoberg & Kat Likkel and Brenda Hsueh with story by Sohn, Hoberg & Likkel and Hsueh.
When Is “Elemental” Released?
“Elemental” is being released exclusively in cinemas in many countries, including the United States and Canada, on June 16th 2023. However, the film is getting a staggered global release and will arrive in cinemas a few weeks later, on July 7th 2023.
Also released along with “Elemental” is the Pixar short, “Carl’s Date”, which is an animated short that was originally going to be released on Disney+, but was delayed and shifted over to a theatrical release. The short is part of the “Dug Days” series, which is available now on Disney+ and is a follow-on to the classic film, “Up”, and sees Carl going on his first date since his wife, Ellie, passed away.
When Will “Elemental” Be On Disney+?
Currently, no official Disney+ release date has yet been announced.
While the last few Pixar films, such as “Soul”, “Turning Red”, and “Luca”, were released directly onto Disney+ during the pandemic. Last year’s “Lightyear” took only around 45 days to go from cinemas to Disney+, but as Disney has refocused on rebuilding its theatrical business following the pandemic to try to make more profit from its films, expect this film to take a little longer to arrive on Disney+.
Marvel’s “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” has taken around 90 days to go from cinemas to Disney+, so should “Elemental” follow this pattern, it’s likely we will see “Elemental” arrive on Disney+ around mid-September 2023. However, with the staggered international theatrical release, this could result in the film either being delayed in arriving a few weeks later or countries like the UK will get it a few weeks later.
Is “Elemental” Coming To Disney+ Premier Access?
Disney has confirmed that following the release of “Jungle Cruise”, it won’t be using Disney+ Premier Access, instead offering selected movies exclusively in cinemas first, before being released on Disney’s streaming services.
