It’s Friday, and Disney+ subscribers in the UK and Ireland have a number of new National Geographic documentaries to enjoy, plus the return of “Criminal Minds”.

Here’s the rundown:


Criminal Minds: Evolution – New Episode

In “Criminal Minds: Evolution,” the FBI’s elite team of criminal profilers come up against their greatest threat yet, an UnSub who has used the pandemic to build a network of other serial killers. As the world opens back up and the network goes operational, the team must hunt them down, one murder at a time. Cast members from the original series reprising their roles include Joe Mantegna, A.J. Cook, Kirsten Vangsness, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez and Paget Brewster. Zach Gilford joins the dynamic cast as a recurring guest star in a season-long arc.

“Criminal Minds: Evolution” will continue and expand the beloved franchise for streaming audiences, blending serialized elements into the series’ format. This season continues the “Criminal Minds” series, the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit, the best of the best who profiled the worst of the worst.


The Territory

When a network of Brazilian farmers seizes a protected area of the Amazon rainforest, a young Indigenous leader and his mentor must fight back in defense of the land and an uncontacted group living deep within the forest.


The Flagmakers

Following workers at the country’s largest maker of American flags and flagpoles; the refugees and immigrants who have risked everything to come to the U.S.


Retrograde

Tells the story of the last months of the 20-year war in Afghanistan through the intimate relationship between American Green Berets and the Afghan officers they trained.


The Power Of One

It’s the 1930s, and as the people he cares for die or leave his village, young South African P.K. bonds with much older Doc (Armin Mueller-Stahl). A foreigner, Doc is detained when World War II starts, but from his prison cell he encourages P.K. to learn boxing. As he travels to different bouts, the adult P.K. (Stephen Dorff) forges relationships that anger the state’s apartheid government — but his reunion with his onetime schoolyard nemesis (Daniel Craig) may offer his biggest challenge yet.


The Nightingale of Bursa

Cengiz is the singer at a tea garden in Bursa and his greatest ambition is to release an album. Cengiz’s life changes when he meets Taskin. Believing that the song composed by Taskin’s father, Serafettin, would be a great start for his album, Cengiz buys the song using money he borrowed from his older brother. When Taskin spends all that money, Cengiz starts performing with Taskin and his sister Arzu.

National Geographic Explorer Albert Lin travels to the jungles of Central America in search of the lost capital of the Maya Snake Kings.
