What’s New On Disney+ | The Lion King
Today sees the release of the 2019 version of Disney’s “The Lion King”, on Disney+ in the United States and Canada.
The new version of “The Lion King” broke records as it grossed over $1.6 billion worldwide at the box office and was at one point, the highest-grossing animated film of all-time (even though Disney won’t admit it’s an animated movie). It is also the second highest-grossing film of 2019, just behind Avengers: Endgame, which is also on Disney+.
And it was released in cinemas in the US on July 19th 2019, so it has taken 193 days from it’s initial release before it’s been made available on Disney+.
