It’s the start of a brand new week and time for a look at what’s coming to Disney+ in Canada this week, which includes a number of new originals including “The Bear”, “Rise” and the finale of “Obi-Wan Kenobi” plus a special live presentation from Epcot in Walt Disney World.

Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness

In Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.


Star Wars: Obi-Wan Kenobi – Episode 6

“Obi-Wan Kenobi” begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.


Ms Marvel – Episode 3

Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero megafan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets superpowers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with superpowers, right?


Under the Banner of Heaven (S1, New Episode)

The investigation intensifies after Pyre uncovers details of the Lafferty family’s fundamentalist beliefs, sparking a search for missing Lafferty brothers, Ron and Dan and putting Pyre at odds with his own church leaders.


Breakthrough (S1-2)

Oscar winners Ron Howard and Brian Grazer put their storytelling acumen to work as executive producers of “Breakthrough,” a series of hourlong documentaries highlighting the stories, people, and technology behind the world’s most cutting-edge scientific innovations. After considering more than 100 scientific topics for the series, the pair — helped by National Geographic archives and research, along with the scientific resources of partner GE — selected biotechnology, neuroscience, anti-aging technology, alternative energy, water conservation, and global pandemics.


The Science of Stupid (S1-6)

The host presents videos of people getting injured or humiliated while using gadgets and then explains the science behind the bizarre accidents.


G.O.A.T. (S1)

It’s the G.O.A.T. hall of fame application! The Goat interviews candidates to see if they have what it takes to be the Greatest Of All Time!


Amphibia (S3)

Inspired by creator and executive producer Matt Braly’s heritage, family and childhood trips to Bangkok, Thailand, Disney’s animated series chronicles the adventures of independent and fearless teen Anne Boonchuy after she is magically transported to a rural marshland full of frog people. There, Anne meets the excitable young frog Sprig Plantar; unpredictable pollywog Polly Plantar, the youngest member of the Plantar family; and overprotective and traditional grandfather Hop Pop. Stuck in this fantastical world of amphibians, Anne quickly bonds with the adventurous Sprig and discovers the true meaning of friendship.


The Practice (S1-8)

Bobby Donnell is the head of a Boston law firm that deals with high-profile cases. The controversies surrounding the firm force the attorneys to choose between legal ethics and personal morality.


The Resident (S5)

A group of young practising doctors face the realities of modern-day medicine and issues as they learn the ropes with the help of a seasoned senior resident.


Station 19 (S5)

Practically raised at Seattle’s Station 19, Andy Herrera is a confident firefighter who is also the daughter of Pruitt Herrera, the formidable head of the firehouse. Capt. Pruitt was Andy’s primary inspiration to become a firefighter and is a mentor to both her and Jack Gibson, the lieutenant at the station. Jack is as fearless as Andy is by-the-books, but when the two are together, sparks fly and opposites attract. The two are joined by Maya Bishop, Dean Miller, Travis Montgomery, Victoria Hughes, and the station’s newest addition, rookie Ben Warren. The team also works closely with Seattle PD, often running into Andy’s former flame Ryan Tanner.


Superstar (S1)

The life and career of legendary pop star George Michael; how he reinvented himself from a teenage heartthrob to a global superstar; featuring interviews with Sam Smith, Paula Abdul and others who worked with Michael and were influenced by his music.


9-1-1 (S5)

Policemen, paramedics and firefighters put themselves in dangerous situations to save people’s lives. Meanwhile, they also have to deal with their personal problems.


Hardy Boys – Season 2 – New Episode

With Frank missing from the school dance, Joe and the gang must race against time to locate his whereabouts and stop the Shadow Man from completing his ultimate plan.

The Bear

“The Bear” follows Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White), a young chef from the fine dining world, who comes home to Chicago to run his family sandwich shop – The Original Beef of Chicagoland – after a heartbreaking death in his family. A world away from what he’s used to, Carmy must balance the soul-crushing realities of small business ownership, his strong-willed and recalcitrant kitchen staff and his strained familial relationships, all while grappling with the impact of his brother’s suicide.

“The Bear” is about food, family, the insanity of the grind, the beauty of Sense of Urgency and the steep slippery downsides. As Carmy fights to transform both The Original Beef of Chicagoland and himself, he works alongside a rough-around-the-edges kitchen crew that ultimately reveal themselves as his chosen family.

Trevor The Musical

A filmed version of the off-Broadway stage production, “Trevor: The Musical” follows a charming 13-year-old on a turbulent journey of self discovery. After an embarrassing incident at school, Trevor must summon the courage to forge his own path. The musical is based on the 1995 Academy Award-winning short film “Trevor” which ultimately inspired the nonprofit organization The Trevor Project.


Rise

Audiences have never seen a story like that of the Antetokounmpos. After emigrating from Nigeria to Greece, Charles and Vera Antetokounmpo (Dayo Okeniyi and Yetide Badaki, respectively) struggled to survive and provide for their five children, while living under the daily threat of deportation. With their oldest son still in Nigeria with relatives, the couple were desperate to obtain Greek citizenship but found themselves undermined by a system that blocked them at every turn. When they weren’t selling items to tourists on the streets of Athens with the rest of the family, the brothers – Giannis (Uche Agada) and Thanasis (Ral Agada) would play basketball with a local youth team. Latecomers to the sport, they discovered their great abilities on the basketball court and worked hard to become world class athletes, along with brother, Kostas (Jaden Osimuwa). With the help of an agent, Giannis entered the NBA Draft in 2013 in a long shot prospect that would change not only his life but the life of his entire family. And last season, Giannis and Thanasis helped bring the Milwaukee Bucks their first championship ring in 50 years, while Kostas played for the previous season champs, the Los Angeles Lakers.


The Binge (2020)

Three 18-year-olds prepare for the one day when it’s legal to drink alcohol and take drugs.


Plan B (2021)

After a regrettable sexual encounter, a straight-laced student and her best friend have 24 hours to hunt down a Plan B pill in South Dakota.
