It’s the start of a brand new week and time to take a look at what’s coming to Disney+ in Australia and New Zealand this week, which includes the debut of a brand new FX series, “Shōgun” and a new animated series from Africa called “Iwájú”.

Shōgun – Two Episodes

“Shōgun,” an original adaptation of James Clavell’s bestselling novel, is set in Japan in the year 1600 at the dawn of a century-defining civil war. Producer Hiroyuki Sanada stars as “Lord Yoshii Toranaga” who is fighting for his life as his enemies on the Council of Regents unite against him. When a mysterious European ship is found marooned in a nearby fishing village, its English pilot, “John Blackthorne” (Cosmo Jarvis), comes bearing secrets that could help Toranaga tip the scales of power and devastate the formidable influence of Blackthorne’s own enemies — the Jesuit priests and Portuguese merchants. Toranaga’s and Blackthorne’s fates become inextricably tied to their translator, “Toda Mariko” (Anna Sawai), a mysterious Christian noblewoman and the last of a disgraced line. While serving her lord amidst this fraught political landscape, Mariko must reconcile her newfound companionship with Blackthorne, her commitment to the faith that saved her and her duty to her late father.

Synduality Noir (S1, New Episode)

In 2242, Kanata meets Noir, a Magus who lost her memories; Kanata wants to become a Drifter and partners up with Noir to learn how to become one.

Star Wars: The Bad Batch – Episode 304 “A Different Approach”

In the epic final season of “Star Wars: The Bad Batch,” the Batch will have their limits tested in the fight to reunite with Omega as she faces challenges of her own inside a remote Imperial science lab. With the group fractured and facing threats from all directions, they will have to seek out unexpected allies, embark on dangerous missions, and muster everything they have learned to free themselves from the Empire.

Bob’s Burgers – New Episode

During a neighborhood block party, Linda makes a mistake that could threaten the life of her favorite alley raccoon.

Iwájú

Iwájú is an original animated series set in a futuristic Lagos, Nigeria. The exciting coming-of-age story follows Tola, a young girl from the wealthy island, and her best friend, Kole, a self-taught tech expert, as they discover the secrets and dangers hidden in their different worlds. Kugali filmmakers—including director Olufikayo Ziki Adeola, production designer Hamid Ibrahim and cultural consultant Toluwalakin Olowofoyeku—take viewers on a unique journey into the world of Iwájú, bursting with unique visual elements and technological advancements inspired by the spirit of Lagos.

Iwájú: A Day Ahead

A documentary special filmed across three continents that shares the story of the founders of the Pan-African entertainment company, Kugali, who made their dream a reality creating an original animation series with Walt Disney Animation Studios. Created by the ABC News Studios and Walt Disney Animation Studios team that brought you “Into the Unknown: Making Frozen 2,” the documentary shows anything is possible when talent meets opportunity. “Iwájú: A Day Ahead” is directed by Megan Harding and executive produced by Amy Astley and Beth Hoppe.

Marvel’s Spidey and his Amazing Friends: Season 3 – New Episode

Peter Parker, Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy join forces with Hulk, Ms Marvel and Black Panther to fight their common enemies and learn that working together as a team is the best.

Death in the Dorms – Season 2

The kind of danger that no college student is ever prepared for: a life cut short just when it was getting started, not by accident but by foul play; each procedural episode will examine a different murder of a college student in the U.S.

Undead Unluck – Episode 12

Andy and Fuko sneak past guards, arriving at the cargo hold. Auctioned boy Chikara tries to escape in the pandemonium but meets Rip and her Unrepair ability.

Everything Is Fine

A family faces the serious illness of one of its children and its impact on their lives.

Ishura (S1 – New Episode)

A group of superhuman warriors who once fought together to end the reign of a demon king, now fight each other to see who is the strongest warrior.
