A different version of Buzz Lightyear, the High School Musical theater kids’ trip to a summer camp heats up, plus the LEGO Star Wars crew goes on a summer vacation on the galactic starcruiser. Let’s check out what to watch this weekend on Disney+.

LIGHTYEAR

Pixar’s latest feature film gives an origin story for Buzz Lightyear. This film follows the life of the human Buzz Lightyear, the astronaut who inspired the toy Andy receives in the first “Toy Story” film. This is the first Pixar film to have appeared in theaters since “Onward” in early 2020.

HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: THE MUSICAL: THE SERIES

A reluctant E.J. takes the reins in a surprisingly new role on “Frozen.” New campers bring surprising vocal chops, and competition, to the auditions for “Frozen,” while in Los Angeles, Nini makes a potentially life-changing discovery of her own.

LEGO STAR WARS: SUMMER VACATION

Finn has arranged a surprise vacation for his friends aboard the Galactic Starcruiser, The Halcyon! But Finn’s plan quickly goes awry when he’s separated from the group. Alone on board the Halcyon, Finn encounters three Force Spirits; Obi-Wan Kenobi, Anakin Skywalker and Princess Leia, who each share their own unexpected stories of vacations gone wrong. This feels like a silly commercial for Disney World’s new hotel, but it’s still a lot of fun.

MARVEL STUDIOS ASSEMBLED: THE MAKING OF MS. MARVEL

This installment of ASSEMBLED takes us on the journey of bringing a long-awaited global phenomenon to life. Go behind-the-scenes every step of the way with immersive footage from the making of the series, along with insightful interviews on set from the cast and crew of Ms. Marvel as we watch Iman Vellani and her character, Kamala Khan, become the superhero right before our eyes.

TOY STORY 2

And, if you are looking for library content, check out “Toy Story 2.” When “Lightyear” hit theaters, I suggested you watch the first “Toy Story” film to see more of the toy version of Buzz Lightyear. With “Lightyear” hitting Disney+, check out the sequel. There’s also a “Toy Story” collection available on Disney+, so you can see any of the “Toy Story” films, shorts or specials availble on the service.

That’s what you can watch this weekend on Disney+. What will you be watching?
