Vincent D’Onofrio Not Worried About “Daredevil: Born Again” Disney+ Series Creative Overhaul
Earlier this week, it was revealed that Marvel Studios is making a huge overhaul of its upcoming Disney+ series, “Daredevil: Born Again”, which had begun filming earlier this summer, before halting due to the actor’s strike.
Apparently, Marvel executives weren’t happy with the direction the show was going, since it was leaning more toward becoming a law drama. Marvel Studios has removed all the writers and directors from the series, and will be bringing in a brand new team to create the show, while trying to reuse as much footage as possible from the earlier shoots, as under half the initial 18-episode season has already been filmed.
“Daredevil: Born Again” will see Charlie Cox return as Daredevil/Matt Murdock, and Vincent D’Onofrio will also be returning as Wilson Fisk/The Kingpin. Following this news of the show being reworked, Vincent took to social media to reply to a fan’s question about the show and revealed how the creative overhaul isn’t really a big deal, and it’s common within the film and television industry.
Unless you really know what’s going there’s a chance you could be wrong about this statement.
We are going to bring forward the best series we can. One we can be proud of.
Have some trust my freind, trust.Every cool project I’ve been involved with has evolved constantly during pre- production, production and post.
It’s just reported on these days as if it’s big news.
It’s not.
It’s simple a bunch of creatives doing their best to get it right.
It’s a constant in this business.
I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Frankly I’d be worried if we were settling for less.
The show was originally announced to be coming to Disney+ in 2024, but with the actor’s strike continuing and with the entire show set to be reworked, it’s going to be delayed. Disney has been making changes to how many Disney+ shows it makes, as it looks to cut costs, create a more curated lineup of originals to provide better quality and also to reduce superhero fatigue from releasing too many films and shows over the past few years.
Hopefully, filming can resume on “Daredevil: Born Again” soon, but in the meantime, you can check out the “Daredevil” show on Disney+ now. And in the New Year, Disney+ will be releasing “Echo”, which will also feature both Daredevil and the Kingpin!
