Marvel Studios is currently developing a brand new film “Blade”, which was initially announced at the 2019 San Diego Comic-Con and will star Mahershala Ali as the vampire hunter, who is half-human/half-vampire, that has honed his abilities to hunt down the undead who have long terrorized mankind.

The film has gone through some delays, moving from a 2023 release date, sliding back to September 6th 2024, with Yann Demange taking over as the new director, having previously directed “White Boy Rick” and “Lovecraft Country”.  Filming is due to begin filming in May in Atlanta.

THR has revealed that Nic Pizzolatto has joined the project to write the script for “Blade”.  Nic has previously worked with Mahershala Ali, on the HBO series, “True Detective”.   He is working on a draft script by Michael Starrbury, who has previously worked on “When They See Us.”   Nic has been working on the script for the past few weeks.

“Blade” is also going to star Aaron Pierre, Delroy Lindo and Mia Goth.
