Top 10 Best Shows Of 2025 On Disney+ & Hulu

As we approach the end of 2025, it’s that time of the year to look back at some of the biggest and most popular shows that have been released on Disney+ throughout the year.  We’ve seen plenty of new original content released on Disney+ and Hulu throughout the year, including multiple shows from iconic franchises like Marvel and Star Wars, plus many great drama shows from 20th Television, FX, and other studios.

This list includes many titles that are available via Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States, but have also been released on Disney+ internationally.

Here are my top ten shows released on Disney+ in 2025 (In no particular order):

Daredevil: Born Again

After many years away, Marvel has brought back the fantastic former Netflix original series, “Daredevil”, which sees Matt Murdock, a blind lawyer with heightened abilities, fighting for justice through his bustling law firm, while former mob boss Wilson Fisk pursues his own political endeavours in New York. When their past identities begin to emerge, both men find themselves on an inevitable collision course.

As a massive fan of the original Netflix series, it was great to see these iconic characters back on our screens and delivering a Marvel show that is aimed at adults and understands the differences between a TV show and a movie.  It’ll be interesting to see where this show goes in the next few years, as a second season is coming in 2025 and another is already in development.

Andor: A Star Wars Story: Season 2

The second season of “Andor” takes place as the horizon of war draws near and Cassian becomes a key player in the Rebel Alliance. Everyone will be tested and, as the stakes rise, the betrayals, sacrifices and conflicting agendas will become profound. Rife with political intrigue and danger, the series is a prequel to “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” which portrayed a heroic band of rebels who steal the plans to the Empire’s weapon of mass destruction—The Death Star—setting the stage for the events of the original 1977 film. “Andor” sets the clock back five years from the events of “Rogue One” to tell the story of the film’s hero, Cassian Andor, and his transformation from a disinterested, cynical nobody into a rebel hero on his way to an epic destiny.

Without a doubt, “Andor” is one of the finest Star Wars releases since the original film.  This is a show made for grown-up Star Wars fans.  If you’re after lots of cute characters and big action scenes, “Andor” might not be for you, but it dives deep into the world that the original film created, looking at it from a more human level.  It’s simply fantastic and easily the best show of the year.

Paradise

“Paradise” is set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquillity explodes when a shocking murder occurs and a high-stakes investigation unfolds.  I don’t want to give too much more away, as one of the best things about this show was the surprise factor, as the truth slowly came out.  A second season is due to hit our screens in early 2026, and if you haven’t seen this show yet, I strongly recommend it.

Murdaugh: Death In The Family

Maggie and Alex enjoy a lavish life of privilege as members of one of South Carolina’s most powerful legal dynasties. But when their son Paul is involved in a deadly boat crash, the family is faced with a test unlike any they’ve ever encountered. As details come to light and new challenges emerge, the family’s connections to several mysterious deaths raise questions which threaten everything Maggie and Alex hold dear.

Hulu has had an incredible 2025, with some big drama series that I’ve really enjoyed and “Murdaugh: Death In The Family” is a fantastic limited series that had me gripped and waiting to hit the “next” button as soon as the next episode was released.  There are many different elements to this film, not just a simple court case, but how it spirals for the family, highlighting how power can corrupt.

Marvel Zombies

This animated series is a spin-off from Marvel’s “What If”? and is told over four parts.  After the Avengers are overtaken by a zombie plague, a desperate group of survivors discovers the key to bringing an end to the super-powered undead, racing across a dystopian landscape and risking life and limb to save their world.

“Zombies” is a breath of fresh air for Disney’s animated lineup, as it breaks so many of the traditions, being a rated-R show with so much blood and guts.  If you love “The Walking Dead”, I’m sure you’ll love this show too.  If you don’t like zombies, then maybe skip it!

Twisted Tale Of Amanda Knox

A limited series inspired by the story of how Amanda Knox was wrongfully convicted for the tragic murder of her roommate, Meredith Kercher, and her journey to set herself free.

Another fantastic Hulu drama show that delivers a different take on a well-known public case, but with the dramatisation side giving us Amanda’s side.   Watching this show will no doubt highlight the problems of being accused of a crime in a different country and language, with a different legal system and how the media can sway public opinion.

Great American Family

Told from multiple points of view, as a means to explore issues of perspective, bias, and trauma, this compelling drama is inspired by the disturbing stories surrounding a Midwestern couple who adopt a girl with a rare form of dwarfism. But as they begin to raise her alongside their three biological children, ma ystery emerges around her age and background, and they slowly start to suspect she may not be who she says she is. As they defend their family from the daughter they’ve grown to believe is a threat, she fights her own battle to confront her past and what her future holds, in a showdown that ultimately plays out in the tabloids and the courtroom.

After decades starring in “Grey’s Anatomy”, it was interesting seeing Ellen Pompeo take on a different role and deliver a unique series, with lots of twists and turns along the way, especially as the story drastically changes, depending on whose point of view it’s coming from.  It’s not the easiest watch, but as with many shows on this list, it’s another highlight of Hulu’s drama output in 2025.

Suspect: The Shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes

This British Disney+ original drama series tells the story of the tragic killing of innocent Brazilian Jean Charles de Menezes, after he is mistaken for a terrorist. Told from multiple perspectives of those involved, it examines how memory – both accurate and distorted – can be turned into fact and shape our understanding of the truth.

Another hard-hitting drama arrived on Disney+ and Hulu this year, highlighting how errors within the police force under incredible external pressures can result in innocent people being hurt or worse.  A fantastic British drama series that continues to show why international originals are so important in giving viewers different stories.

Alien: Earth

In the year 2120, the Earth is governed by five corporations: Prodigy, Weyland-Yutani, Lynch, Dynamic and Threshold. In this Corporate Era, cyborgs (humans with both biological and artificial parts) and synthetics (humanoid robots with artificial intelligence) exist alongside humans. But the game is changed when the wunderkind Founder and CEO of Prodigy Corporation unlocks a new technological advancement: hybrids (humanoid robots infused with human consciousness). The first hybrid prototype named “Wendy” marks a new dawn in the race for immortality. After Weyland-Yutani’s spaceship collides into Prodigy City, “Wendy” and the other hybrids encounter mysterious life forms more terrifying than anyone could have ever imagined.

Without doubt, “Alien: Earth” was one of the best shows of 2025, not just on Disney+ and Hulu, but across any streaming service.  This show is able to take all the suspense of the original film and bring it to our screens for a new generation.  You’ll also never look at a sheep in the same way again!

The Stolen Girl

This British original drama series is set in the heart of suburbia where life is not quite as tranquil as it first seems. When Elisa and Fred Blix’s daughter, Lucia, goes missing after what appears to be a normal sleepover with a school friend, the couple’s mundane existence spirals into chaos. Elisa is forced to embark on a high-stakes cat-and-mouse chase across Europe to discover the shocking truth about her daughter’s disappearance. Exactly why did the enigmatic Rebecca Walsh take her daughter? Was Lucia a random target? What personal price will she have to pay to get her back? As Elisa starts to fit the pieces together, chaotically persistent journalist Selma Desai reports live, relentlessly ripping apart her family life at every turn. Slowly, the unsettling truth emerges – Rebecca didn’t want any child; she wanted Lucia – and what started as a textbook abduction is quickly evolving into something much darker…

Another great British original drama series dropped onto Disney+ earlier this year, “The Stolen Girl”, gives subscribers another short limited series that has many twists and turns along the way, keeping the viewer in the dark and second-guessing throughout.
