Tom Holland Confirms He’s Returning For Marvel’s “Spider-Man 4”
Over the past few weeks, while out promoting his new non-alcoholic beer, Bero. Tom Holland has been dropping small hints about his return as Your Friendly Neighbourhood Spider-Man, having previously said he had read the script for the upcoming film, but on Tuesday’s Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Tom Holland finally confirmed that a fourth “Spider-Man” film is happening.
The conversation started off with Jimmy recalling how Tom had lied to him and the audience about Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield returning for “Spider-Man: No Way Home”, which was released in 2021 and went on to pull in almost $2 billion at the box office.
Tom Holland confirmed that a fourth film is being made and that filming is set to begin next summer.
“Next summer, we start shooting. Everything’s good to go — we’re nearly there. Super exciting. I can’t wait!”
It’s also been recently revealed that Tom Holland will be starring in the upcoming “Avengers: Doomsday” and “Avengers: Secret Wars” movies. But before he suits back up as Spider-Man, Tom will be filming a new movie with Christopher Nolan.
Neither Marvel nor Sony has announced details of their partnership for the upcoming “Spider-Man” films, but hopefully, more information on a new deal will be revealed soon. Sony still has two more live-action “Spider-Verse” films to release this year, “Venom 3: The Last Dance” and “Kraven The Hunter”.
Disney hasn’t officially announced when the new “Spider-Man” film is going to be released, but with “Avengers: Doomsday” coming out in May 2026 and “Avengers: Secret Wars” coming out a year later, it wouldn’t be surprise to see a new Spider-Man film released between the two Avengers movies.
Many fans are speculating over the future of Sony’s Marvel films. We’ve seen superhero fatigue impact Sony’s attempts at extending their “Spider-Verse” with flops like “Morbius” and “Madame Web,” as audiences become bored of lacklustre films.
Roger’s Take: It’s great to finally have confirmation that Tom Holland is returning as Spider-Man, not that I had any doubt he wouldn’t, since Tom seems to recognise how important the character is, not just to audiences but also for his career. Doing these major Marvel films also allows him to take on other roles and keep his profile high. Plus, Tom’s still only in his 20’s, so he’s still got plenty of years left in him to play such a physical role.
