“Time Switch” Coming Soon To Disney+ (UK/Ireland)
Disney has announced that the Latin American series, “Time Switch”, aka “Dois Tempos”, is coming to Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Wednesday, 10th May 2023. The series will also be released on Star+ in Latin America.
In this Brazilian series, self-centered Paz isn’t satisfied with being Brazil’s most famous influencer in 2022. She heads to the small coastal town of Água-Marinha, a place at the forefront of female empowerment, where she plans to open the “House of Paz” to train a new generation of influencers. But Água-Marinha’s local women, led by María, are opposed to Paz’s plan to take over a space that’s already used as a cultural center. After an argument between Paz and Maria is secretly recorded and goes viral, Paz is “canceled” for her offensive language.
In the same town, but in 1922, a young writer is facing a difficult situation. Cecília — a writer and heiress to a wealthy family — has to move in with her godparents after her parents die in a fire. Making matters worse, she is being forced to marry her godparents’ immature son, Pedro, despite being a lesbian and not having any desire to be a lady of society or a mother. The two women, separated by a hundred years, are desperate to escape their lives in pursuit of freedom and happiness. The universe decides to help them: they mysteriously travel through time to wake up in each other’s bodies in another century. Now they face the problems and wonders of a different period, causing them to rethink female issues with respect to places they find themselves and carve out new roles in the world.
The cast also includes Paulo Rocha (“The Seventh Guardian”), Leonardo Bianchi (“The King of TV”), Isabella Moreira (“Poliana Moça”), Luiza Nery (“Carinha de Anjo”), Dadá Coelho (“Galera FC”), Agda Couto (“Arena”), Martha Nowill (All the Women of the World”), Isabela Mariotto (“The Life of Tina”), Breno Ferreira (“Most Beautiful Thing”),
“Time Switch” is produced by Cinefilm and has 8 episodes, which are 35 minutes long, “Dois Tempos” has a general direction by Vera Egito (“Todxs Nós” and “Amores Urbanos”) and a photography direction by Camila Cornelsen (“Todxs Nós”). The artistic conception and art direction are by Billy Castilho (“How to Make a Love Movie”), with costumes by Joana Porto (“Pedro’s Journey”). The scripts were written by Mariana Tesch (“Most Beautiful Thing”), Otavio Chamorro (“Rensga Hits!”), Caroline Margoni (“Psi”), Tainá Muhringer (“Eveandro Case”) and Ariana Saiegh (“Between Paredes”), who is also the creator of the series.
