Tim Allen Shares Update On “Toy Story 5”
Earlier this year, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Pixar would be creating a new instalment in the “Toy Story” franchise, but since then, we’ve not heard anything more about the film.
But this past Tuesday evening, Tim Allen, who plays Buzz Lightyear in the animated “Toy Story” films, made a special appearance on the Jimmy Fallon show to promote his new stand-up tour and the Disney+ Original series, “The Santa Clauses”.
During the interview, Tim Allen revealed that he had some reservations about returning for another “Toy Story” film and said:
“Bob Iger said it was on. He actually said that it was going to happen. They have reached out to Tom [Hanks] and I to reprise the roles. They’re not saying anything about it. You wonder if four was too many. Is five going to be too much? According to the scuttlebutt, the writer that’s doing it wrote one of the better ones, he said, ‘If I didn’t get this right I wouldn’t do it.’ So it could be a very interesting way to reunite it.”

Following the lacklustre response to “Lightyear”, which saw Chris Evans take over the role of Buzz Lightyear in the movie that the toy was based on, Pixar is going back to basics with the upcoming film.
Unfortunately, we don’t know much more about the upcoming “Toy Story” film, but it’s one of many sequels in development by Disney, including a follow-up to “Zootopia” and two new “Frozen” films. Disney is returning to its established franchises to try to recover the box office success it had before the pandemic.
While we wait for the fifth “Toy Story” film, you can check out the previous four films plus many of the specials on Disney+ now.
