Disney is set to release a new live-action series “Turner & Hooch” later this year and is a sequel to the 1980s movie, which is also available to watch on Disney+ now.
This new series follows an ambitious, buttoned-up US Marshall, who inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the dog he didn’t want may be the partner he needs. Josh Peck stars as Scott Turner, son of Detective Scott Turner portrayed in the original 1989 film by Tom Hanks.
According to Deadline, three new actors have been revealed to be appear in the series, Matt Hamilton (The Actress Diaries), Paul Campbell (Battlestar Galactica) and Cristina Rosato (Little Italy) are set for recurring roles in this new Disney+ series.
Matt Hamilton will be playing Trent Havelock, who is the Senior Deputy Marshal to Scott Turner . The only thing he loves more than chasing down bad guys is taking credit at the press conference afterwards. He gets all the fame, all the glory, and all the great cases—everything Scott thinks he wants. And he doesn’t much like dogs. Matt Hamilton has previously starred in “The Actress Diaries”.
Paul Campbell will be playing the role of Grady Garland, Laura Turner’s (Lyndsy Fonseca) ex-husband and Matthew’s (Jeremy Maguire) father. He’s a well-meaning small-town cop who peaked in High School and at this point probably has more in common with his eight-year-old than his ex. Paul Campbell starred in Syfy’s “Battlestar Galactica” and several Hallmark Channel original movies
Cristina Rosato plays Olivia, Xavier Watkins’ ( Brandon Jay McLaren) fiancée. An Oakland cop from the Midwest. She’s warm, earnest, and enthusiastic, seemingly the complete opposite of her enigmatic soon-to-be husband. Cristina Rosato has starred in “Bad Santa 2” and “The Good Doctor”.
