One of this year’s biggest hit new shows for Disney is “Paradise”, which is set in a serene community inhabited by some of the world’s most prominent individuals. But this tranquility explodes when a shocking murder occurs, and a high-stakes investigation unfolds. 

Sterling K. Brown, James Marsden, Julianne Nicholson, Sarah Shahi, Nicole Brydon Bloom, Aliyah Mastin and Percy Daggs IV starred in the first season of “Paradise”. The new season will also feature some new cast including Shailene Woodley and according to Deadline, Thomas Doherty has joined the cast of the second season.

Thomas Doherty has previously starred in 20th Television’s “Tell Me Lies” and the Disney “Descendants” movies.

With all the secrecy over the first season, it’s no surprise that there are no details on the second season, such as what the plot is going to be or who Thomas will be playing, however, Deadline has revealed that there is an option to upgrade the role to a series regular for a potential third season. The report states that Doherty could be playing the role of Link, who is a leader of a biker gang.

The show’s initial success was evident when the debut episode pulled in 7 million views in its first week across Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.  Shortly before the season finale, it was revealed that the show had been renewed for a second season.

“Paradise” is executive produced by Dan Fogelman, Sterling K. Brown, John Requa, Glenn Ficarra, John Hoberg, Jess Rosenthal, and Steve Beers.

The first season of “Paradise” is available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the U.S. and on Disney+ internationally. 

Roger’s Take: With the season one finale setting up the main story of the second season, it’s clear that the story is going to be moving out beyond “Paradise” and it will open up the world in a very different way from the first season. I can’t wait as “Paradise” has been one of the best shows of the year so far.
