“The Simpsons Movie 2” Is Officially Announced

Disney has announced that a brand new “Simpsons” movie will be coming to cinemas in the summer of 2027 and likely onto Disney+ by the end of the same year.

The new movie will be released in cinemas on July 23rd 2027, where it has taken the place of an untitled Marvel movie.

A new poster for the film has been released, showing Homer’s hand reaching for a donut covered in 2’s, representing it being a sequel to “The Simpsons Movie” that came out in the summer of 2007, marking a twenty year gap between the two animated films.

No other details on the movie have been announced yet, but hopefully we will get more details at a later date.

The original “Simpsons” movie, along with all the previous seasons and shorts are available to stream on Disney+.

Roger’s Take:  It’s been a long time since the last “Simpsons” movie and Disney knows there’s a lot of interest in the franchise, with the show regularly being the most popular show on Disney+.  I also think its a great idea to take the place of a Marvel movie, since Disney desperately needs to slow down how many of those it makes each year.

What do you think of a second “Simpsons” movie being released?  Let me know on social media!
