“The Revenant” To Be Re-Released In IMAX Cinemas
Disney has announced that it will be celebrating the 10th anniversary of the 20th Century Studios film, “The Revenant”, by re-releasing the film in select IMAX theatres across the United States, United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Australia, New Zealand, and Mexico on Thursday, 26th February and Sunday, 1st March 2026.
Fans will be able to relive Alejandro G. Iñárritu’s brutal masterpiece with IMAX’s extraordinary picture and sound technology for the ultimate cinematic experience.
Leonardo DiCaprio stars in this critically acclaimed epic adventure inspired by true events from writer-director Alejandro G. Iñárritu. While on a hunting expedition in the American wilderness, Hugh Glass is attacked by a bear and left for dead. Despite unimaginable grief and betrayal by his confidant, played by Tom Hardy, Glass must navigate a vicious winter in a relentless pursuit to live.
“The Revenant” was released in 2015 and grossed over $532 million at the global box office. The film won three Academy Awards for acting (Leonardo DiCaprio), directing (Alejandro G. Iñárritu), and cinematography (Emmanuel Lubezki). The re-release comes as DiCaprio returns to the awards spotlight with “One Battle After Another,” securing another acting nod.

“The Revenant” features a screenplay by Mark L. Smith and Alejandro G. Iñárritu based in part on the novel by Michael Punke, and is produced by Steve Golin, Alejandro G. Iñárritu, Arnon Milchan, and Mary Parent. The film, which is inspired by real events, tells the story of a frontiersman in the 1800s who is left for dead and must survive a brutal winter in the wilderness before returning to avenge his son’s death.
The film is also available to stream on Disney+ in many countries around the world.
