“The Resident” Cancelled After Six Seasons
The future of the popular medical drama, “The Resident” has been revealed, as it has been revealed that Fox has cancelled the show after six seasons.
The show, which is created by Disney’s 20th Television, is about a young doctor’s final years of training that rips back the curtain to reveal the truth of what really happens, both good and bad, in hospitals across the country. It stars Matt Czuchry, Emily VanCamp, Bruce Greenwood, Manish Dayal, Malcolm-Jamal Warner and Jane Leeves.
The series was released on the Fox channel in the United States and on Hulu, the most recent seasons were also released internationally in many countries, including the UK, exclusively on Disney+.
Over the past few years, the show’s ratings have been dropping season to season, with the sixth season being down 69% on the first. Often with long-running shows, they get more expensive to make and with viewership down, plus since the show began, Fox and 20th Television have been split up following the acquisition by Disney.
All six seasons of “The Resident” are available to stream now on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ in many countries including the UK.
