Last week, Disney released the first episode of the fifth season of the reality series “The Kardashians”, which follows the Kardashian-Jenner family,  Kourtney, Kim, Khloé, Kendall, and Kylie, who navigate contentious sister dynamics, all under the watchful eye of everyone’s favourite matriarch, Kris.

Deadline has revealed that the season five premiere picked up 3.9 million views globally within the first four days on Hulu, Disney+, and Star+, making it the most-watched unscripted series premiere this year on all Disney streaming platforms.

It’s also the second most-watched entertainment premiere of the year so far, just behind the FX series “Shōgun”.

The release of the new season also gave a boost to the previous four seasons, as viewership for the first season has tripled since the season five premiere, as audiences catch up on the show.  There was also a spike in viewership between 99% and 187% for seasons two, three and four,

Fulwell 73 partner Ben Winston executive produces alongside Emma Conway and Elizabeth Jones, with Danielle King serving as showrunner and executive producer. Kris Jenner, Kourtney Kardashian Barker, Kim Kardashian, Khloé Kardashian, Kendall Jenner and Kylie Jenner also serve as executive producers.

You can catch the first four seasons, plus the first two episodes of the fifth season now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States, on Star+ in Latin America and on Disney+ around the world.    A new episode is currently being released weekly.

Roger’s Take:  While many people online don’t seem to like the idea of “The Kardashians” being on Disney+ and Hulu, the simple truth is that this series pulls in an audience that very few shows can do, highlighting that there’s a lot of interest in the antics of the Kardashian-Jenner family!
