As part of a major trade between Netflix and Disney, the two platforms have agreed to share access in the United States to all four seasons of the hit sitcom, “The Hughleys”, which will become available for the first time on streaming platforms.

The series ran for eighty-nine episodes across four seasons, which aired on ABC from September 22, 1998 to April 28, 2000 and on the UPN network from September 11, 2000 to May 20, 2002. It starred comedian D. L. Hughley as the main character, Darryl Hughley, and Elise Neal as Yvonne, his hard-working wife, who move their family from the inner city to suburban Los Angeles with hilarious results.

According to Deadline, the deal between Netflix and Disney, saw Netflix give shared access to “Grey’s Anatomy”, in exchange for Disney providing shared access to fourteen titles, including “Lost” and “Prison Break”.

“The Hughleys” will be released on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ in 2024, and it will also be coming to Netflix on the 2nd September 2024.

No international release details have been confirmed, but hopefully, with the show being set up for streaming for the first time, we should see this available on Disney+ around the world at some point, too.
