With the animated series, “The Great North” recently returning for a fourth season, many fans are looking to the future for the season and hoping that Fox will renew the show for a fifth season.

“The Great North” follows the Alaskan adventures of the Tobin family, as a single dad, Beef, does his best to keep his weird bunch of kids close – especially his only daughter, Judy, whose artistic dreams lead her away from the family fishing boat and into the glamorous world of the local mall. Rounding out the family are Judy’s older brother, Wolf, and his fiancé, Honeybee; her middle brother, Ham; and her ten-year-old-going-on-fifty little brother, Moon. While their mother is not in the picture, Judy seeks guidance from her new boss, Alyson, and her imaginary friend, Alanis Morissette, who appears to her in the northern lights.

The series was created, written and executive-produced by “Bob’s Burgers” writers and executive producers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, as well as writer Minty Lewis (“Regular Show”). The Molyneux sisters serve as showrunners. “Bob’s Burgers” creator Loren Bouchard is also an executive producer. “The Great North” is a 20th Television production, and animation is produced through Bento Box Entertainment.

And according to Wendy Molyneux, who is one of the creators, writers, and executive producers on the show, the show has already been renewed for a fifth season, as they’ve already been working on the upcoming fifth season.

Wendy revealed this on the latest episode of “From North to Wharf” podcast, but also questioned why Fox hadn’t announced the renewal yet.   It was also revealed that due to last summers actor’s and writer’s strikes, Fox dropped four episodes from the fourth season order.

Officially, a fifth season hasn’t been announced, and unless the viewership of the latest season is drastically down on previous years, hopefully it won’t be too long until it.

The previous four seasons are available to stream now on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ in the United States and on Disney+ around the world.
