Disney has announced that it will be releasing the classic British film, “The Edge Of Love” on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on February 2nd 2024.

The passion and pathos of legendary poet Dylan Thomas is told through the lives of these two women. Vera Phillips and Dylan were childhood sweethearts in their homeland Wales. Ten years later the two meet again in war-time London. She’s working as a singer whilst he’s churning out propaganda scripts for the government in aid of the war effort. The two feel the thunderbolt once more, but Thomas is now married to the adventurous Caitlin and Vera is embarking on a romance with the intense but loyal William. Despite their love-rival status the women form a strong friendship and when William goes to war the remaining trio form a fierce but unavoidably complicated bond. Broken promises, passion, betrayal, the shadow of war and the constant threat of imminent death provides a vivid setting for the movie.

It stars Keira Knightley, Sienna Miller, Cillian Murphy, and Matthew Rhys. “The Edge Of Love” has been directed by John Maybury and has been produced by Rebekah Gilbertson and Sarah Radclyffe. The film has been written by Sharman Macdonald.

This is the latest British film to be released on Disney+ in the UK, which has been licensed for a limited time from Lionsgate to help increase the amount of British original content available on the streaming platform, to contribute to European quota rules over having a certain amount of European content available and to also applease British subscribers.
