“The Cult Of NatureBoy” Coming Soon To Hulu & Hulu On Disney+

Disney has announced details on a brand new documentary series called “The Cult of NatureBoy”, which will be coming soon to Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.

In 2016, a rising social media star named Eligio Bishop, also known as “NatureBoy,” used his platforms to recruit followers into a group he called Carbon Nation, encouraging them to abandon their families and join his vision of a self-proclaimed Black utopia. What began as an alternative lifestyle community quickly evolved into something far more sinister.

The new four-part docuseries “The Cult of NatureBoy” offers a rare and unfiltered look inside a modern cult operating in plain sight, told through the firsthand testimony of former members and victims and insights from online investigators who tracked them in real time.

Through extensive footage captured by the group itself, “The Cult of NatureBoy” charts Carbon Nation’s transformation into a tightly controlled environment marked by coercion, manipulation and escalating violence. As Bishop’s influence deepened, he transitioned from spiritual guide to self-proclaimed messiah, exerting increasing control over his followers. When former group members come forward with allegations of abuse, Bishop finds himself at the centre of one of the most shocking and complex cult cases in recent U.S. history.

“The Cult of NatureBoy” is produced for Hulu by ZANDLAND and ABC News Studios. Ben Zand is the director, and Lucie Ridout is the showrunner for ZANDLAND. Muriel Pearson is executive producer, and David Sloan is senior executive producer for ABC News Studios.

The new docuseries will be released on April 28th 2026, on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the U.S. It hasn’t been confirmed if the series will also be released on Disney+ internationally, but generally, more ABC News Studios documentary series eventually get released globally.
