“The Creator” Coming Soon To Disney+ (UK/Ireland)
Disney has announced that the 20th Century Studios film, “The Creator”, is going to be released on Disney+ in the United Kingdom and Ireland on Wednesday 17th January 2024, which is a few weeks after the film will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney+ in Canada.
“The Creator” is an epic sci-fi action thriller set amidst a future war between the human race and artificial intelligence rages on, ex-special forces agent Joshua is recruited to hunt down and kill the Creator, the elusive architect of advanced AI. The Creator has developed a mysterious weapon that has the power to end the war and all of mankind. As Joshua and his team of elite operatives venture into enemy-occupied territory, they soon discover the world-ending weapon is actually an AI in the form of a young child.
“The Creator” comes from 20th Century Studios, New Regency, and Entertainment One. The film was directed by Gareth Edwards, and the film stars John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Ken Watanabe, Sturgill Simpson, Madeleine Yuna Voyles, and Allison Janney.
The screenplay is by Gareth Edwards and Chris Weitz from a story by Gareth Edwards. The producers are Gareth Edwards, p.g.a., Kiri Hart, Jim Spencer, p.g.a., and Arnon Milchan. The executive producers are Yariv Milchan, Michael Schaefer, Natalie Lehmann, Nick Meyer, and Zev Foreman.
This film’s streaming releases is becoming part of a growing trend of 20th Century Studios and Searchlight Pictures movies taking much longer to get released on Disney+ in the UK. The film was originaly released in cinemas in September and is available to purchase now on digital platforms, meaning its taken over 90 days to get released on Disney+.
