Nielsen has announced its top 10 streaming charts for the United States from July 1st, 2024, to July 7th. There are four different charts: Top 10 Originals, Acquired Shows, Movies, and a combined total chart.

The latest season of “The Bear” on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+ topped the original chart for a second week coming, showcasing why binge drops can really help boost the viewership numbers over the weekly release model.

Disney continues to dominate the acquired chart, with half of the shows on the chart available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+. This also impacts the overall chart, as half of the shows are available on Hulu and Hulu On Disney+.

For the third week running, the biggest new original show on Disney+, “The Acolyte”, failed to get enough viewership to make the originals chart, which is alarming for the Star Wars franchise.

Pixar’s “Inside Out” also continues to attract audiences, as the boost from “Inside Out 2” spills over onto Disney+.

“Bluey” continues to be a massive hit for Disney+ and Hulu also continues to do well in the overall and acquired charts, with popular shows like “Grey’s Anatomy”, “Family Guy”, “Bob’s Burgers”, and “Criminal Minds” continuing to attract millions of minutes of viewing time.

The return of “House Of The Dragon”, has also been a huge success on Max, but since it also airs on the HBO channel, it is counted as an acquired show rather than an original, and it also gave a bump to “Game Of Thrones”.
