While audiences are currently enjoying the latest season of the hit dating reality series, “The Bachelor”, it looks like fans of the spin-off series, “The Bachelorette” are going to have to wait a little longer as its been revealed that the show will skip this summer and return at a later date.

This show follows “The Bachelorette” on her quest to find true love, a single woman gets a chance to date various men over a period of several weeks and decide whom she will marry.

The show usually starts production around this time of the year and hits our screens in the summer months, but it’s important to note that the show hasn’t been cancelled, just put on pause.

It’s unknown when “The Bachelorette” will return to our screens, but it’s not the first time the “Bachelor” spin-off series has been rescheduled.  The show has skipped summer seasons in the past, as the show wasn’t released in 2006 and 2007.

Usually, the runner-up of the latest season goes on to the next show as the main star to find love. The current season of “The Bachelor” is set to come to an end later this month.

Multiple franchise spin-offs exist, such as “The Golden Bachelor,” “The Bachelor: Winter Games,” “Bachelor Pad,” “The Bachelor Presents: Listen To Your Heart,” “The Golden Bachelorette,” and “Bachelor In Paradise.” So it’s possible ABC has plans for one of them to fill the summer spot instead, especially since “Bachelor In Paradise” was renewed for a new season and will be the next show in the series to be released.

“The Bachelorette” is a production of Warner Bros. Unscripted Television in association with Warner Horizon. Bennett Graebner, Claire Freeland, Jason Ehrlich, Tim Warner and Peter Gust serve as executive producers.

Roger’s Take:  With so many different versions of “The Bachelor”, it might make sense for ABC to shift things around a little to keep things a little fresh, and it skipping this summer might not necessarily mean we won’t see it return this year, Disney might want to bring the show back for the Fall season.
