Disney has announced details on the upcoming second season of the hit animated series, “SuperKitties”, which will return later this year.   The show is about four fierce and furry superhero kittens — Ginny, Sparks, Buddy and Bitsy — who are on a mission to make their town of Kittydale a more caring and “pawesome” place.

The show is geared to kids ages 2-7 and their families, each episode features two 11-minute stories that highlight the SuperKitties as they receive a “SuperKitty Call” from one of their animal friends with a problem that only the SuperKitties can help with (usually caused by one of the comedic villains in the series ― Cat Burglar, Mr. Puppypaws, Lab Rat or Zsa-Zsa). With plenty of super skills and gadgets at their disposal, the SuperKitties set off to thwart the villains’ plans and impart important messages of kindness, empathy, friendship, resilience and problem-solving along the way.

The new season will feature a su-purr charged storyline where Bitsy, Ginny, Buddy and Sparks receive brand-new superpowers and gadgets to aid in their mission.

New guest stars for season two include Disney Legend Anika Noni Rose(“Princess and the Frog”) as Cousin Sassy, Emmy Award winner Pamela Adlon (“Better Things”) as Aunt Lola and Emmy Award winner Eric Bauza (“Muppet Babies”) as robot pig Wiggles.

The second season of “SuperKitties” will debut in the United States on Friday, 5th April 2024, on Disney Junior (9:30 a.m. EDT/PDT) and Disney Channel (2:00 p.m. EDT/PDT). An initial batch of episodes will roll out on Disney+ later this summer.   No international release details have been announced yet.

Disney has announced that it will be launching a brand-new toy line inspired by the series. Figurines, plush, roleplay, and apparel will be available for purchase this spring, with playsets, costumes, and more available later this year. Walt Disney Records will also be releasing “Disney Junior Music: SuperKitties Su-purr Charged Soundtrack,” featuring songs from the new season, on April 5th.

Additionally, Disney has announced that the upcoming Disney California Adventure Food & Wine Festival, which takes place between March 1st – April 22nd, will feature a new limited-time stage show inspired by the hit series, “Confection Purrfection with the SuperKitties”.

The series stars Emma Berman (Disney-Pixar’s “Luca”) as Ginny, Cruz Flateau (“CoComelon”) as Sparks, JeCobi Swain (ABC’s “Home Economics”) as Buddy and Pyper Braun (“Country Comfort”) as Bitsy. The returning guest cast for season two includes Justin Guarini (“American Idol”) as Cat Burglar, James Monroe Iglehart (Broadway’s “Aladdin”) as Mr. Puppypaws, Ruth Pferdehirt (“Finding Nemo: The Musical”) as Lab Rat and Isabella Crovetti (“Vampirina”) as Zsa-Zsa the cockatoo.

“SuperKitties” was created and executive produced by Emmy Award winner Paula Rosenthal (“Peter Rabbit”). Emmy Award-winning producer and writer Sarah Mullervy (“Peter Rabbit”) serves as executive producer, alongside Kirk Van Wormer (“Transformers: Prime) and Audu Paden (“Monster High”), who also serve as executive producers. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television – Kids in association with Disney Junior.
