Disney has announced a brand new German comedy series called “Sultan City” will be coming to Disney+ as a “Star Original”.
The German dark comedy “Sultan City” has been created by up-and-coming producers Ayla Gottschlich and Aysel Yilmaz and head writer Ipek Zübert, follows the respectable matriarch of a German-Turkish family who accidentally becomes the head of a criminal underworld, and discovers she and her daughters have a talent for the business. The series is being produced by Two Moons Pictures.
“Sultan City” is the second German show accounted for Disney+ as part of the new “Star” general entertainment brand, which launches in select markets including Germany on Tuesday 23rd February. It will include a variety of films and movies from Disney’s studios such as 20th Century Studios and ABC.
Projects span multiple genres including drama, comedy, sci-fi and documentary, and have been greenlit in France, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands, with a raft of additional projects in development.

No Disney+ release has yet been announced for this “Star Original”.
