One of the many Marvel Studios projects currently in development for Disney+ is a new series featuring “Wonder Man”, who, after an arrest, businessman Simon Williams, gets turned into a superhuman by a terrorist, Baron Zemo, who is played by Daniel Brühl and was previously introduced in “Captain America: Civil War” and returned in the Disney+ series, “The Falcon And The Winter Soldier”.
The new series is going to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, who previously directed, “Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings”, and he will also be directing the upcoming “Avengers: Kang Dynasty” film. Yahya Adbul-Mateen II has been linked to playing the title character in the series, which is due to begin filming in April. However, no official details on this show have been announced by Marvel.
According to Deadline, Stella Meghie has joined the project and will be directing multiple episodes of the new Marvel Disney+ Series. She has previously directed “The Photograph”, along with episodes of “Grown-ish”, and “First Wives Club”. Stella is also executive producing the upcoming Disney+ Original animated series, “Tiana”, which is a sequel to the classic film, “The Princess and the Frog”.
Tara Duncan, Kevin Feige and Asher Goldstein are also listed as producers on the new Disney+ show, which is being written by Madeline Walter, Paul Bradford Welsh and Andrew Guest.
With filming due to take place over the summer and with the slowdown in Marvel releases, it might be a couple of years, before we see it released on Disney+.
