The 51st Annie Awards took place on Saturday night at UCLA’s Royce Hall, and Disney had a successful night with the Disney+ series, “Star Wars: Visions”, “Kizazi Moto: Generation Fire”, and Marvel’s “Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur”, picking up multiple awards.  Marvel Studios’ “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3” also won an Annie Award for its Best Character Animation in Live Action.

Sony’s Marvel film, “Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse”, won the most awards, with six wins, including Best Feature.  Sony also picked up another animation award for its “Spider-Man 2” video game.

However,  no Disney or Pixar film was nominated in the Best Feature category for the first time in thirty-two years. Pixar’s biggest hit of 2023, “Elemental”, won no awards.  Continuing to show how Disney’s movie creative output isn’t fully hitting on all cylinders right now.
