While we are all enjoying new episodes of “The Bad Batch” and “The Mandalorian” on Disney+ every week, many Star Wars fans are looking forward to the future, and one of the many shows coming to Disney+ is “Ahsoka”, which is set within the same time period as “The Mandalorian” and will see Rosario Dawson return in the title role.

The show is set after the fall of the Empire, “Ahsoka” follows the former Jedi knight Ahsoka Tano as she investigates an emerging threat to a vulnerable galaxy. The new series is being created by Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni, with Katheleen Kennedy, Colin Wilson, Carrie Beck, and Karen Gilchrist are also executive producers on the series.  The new show will feature Natasha Liu Bordizzo playing Sabine Wren, Mary Elizabeth Winstead playing Hera Syndulla, and Ivanna Sakhno will play a new character Shin.

Earlier this year, Disney released a short teaser video highlighting some of the new shows coming to Disney+ in 2023, which included the first look at “Ahsoka”, but we still don’t know when it will arrive on the streaming service.   But recently, Variety shared that it aims to debut in late summer.

This ties in with a recent interview on TODAY with Hoda and Jenna, “Ahsoka” star Rosario Dawson revealed that the show would likely have a premiere date window for the upcoming Disney+ series.

“‘Ahsoka,’ that’s going to probably come out in the Fall. We’re going to have ‘Haunted Mansion’ coming out in August [this has been recently pushed to up to late July] first.”

An August or September release on Disney+ is now looking more likely, and at the upcoming Star Wars Celebration event in London, England, we will find out more information, as on Easter Saturday (April 8th, 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM), there will be a whole panel about the upcoming “Ahsoka” series.

With the third season of “The Mandalorian” due to end in April, Disney could easily fit in Marvel’s “Secret Invasion” and the second season of “Loki”, before the late summer release.
