Due to the delays from this year’s actor’s and writer’s strikes, Sony Pictures has announced that it has pushed back the release of their Marvel film, “Venom 3”. Originally, the film was due to arrive in cinemas on July 14th 2024, but it has now been bumped back to November 8th 2024.

The upcoming third film will see Tom Hardy returns as the lethal protector Venom, who is a symbiotic alien with lethal abilities.. The third film is going to be directed and co-written by Kelly Marcel. Avi Arad, Matt Tolmach, Amy Pascal, Kelly Marcel, Tom Hardy, and Hutch Parker are producing the film for Sony. It’s currently unknown what the story for the third instalment in the franchise is going to be.

The shift by a few months will give the team time to film the remainder of the film, which was halted due to the actor’s strike but is expected to resume filming before the end of the year now that the actor’s strike is over.

Sony has already delayed its other Marvel film, “Kraven The Hunter”, from this winter until next August, to give them a chance to complete some reshoots and complete all of the post-production required for special effects, etc.

With superhero fatigue becoming a major issue for all of the different studios, as audiences become bored of superhero stories, it might be a good thing that these films are a little more spread out. It will be interesting to see how Sony is preparing for this shift in audience demands, as they’ve got a number of films within the Spider-Man universe scheduled over the coming years.

While we wait for “Venom 3”, the first two “Venom” films are available on Disney+ in many countries around the world.
