Sonja Sohn Joins “Will Trent” Pilot
20th Television is currently developing a brand new drama pilot, “Will Trent”, which is based on Karin Slaughter’s bestselling book series which tells the story of Will Trent (played by Ramón Rodríguez), who is a special agent at the Georgia Bureau of Investigations was abandoned at birth and endured a harsh coming-of-age in Atlanta’s overwhelmed foster care system. But now, determined to use his unique point of view to make sure no one is abandoned like he was, Trent has the highest clearance rate in the GBI.
It’s being reported by Deadline, that Sonja Sohn has joined the pilot in the role of Amanda, the head of the Georgia Bureau of Investigation. Will’s (Rodriguez) boss, she’s coldly competent and always camera ready for a press conference. Climbing the ranks at the GBI has made Amanda a real ball-buster, but she has a mysterious soft spot for Will.
Sonja Sohn has previously starred in “The Wire”, “Luke Cage” and “Star Trek: Discovery”.
The series will also star Erika Christensen, Jake McLaughlin and Iantha Richardson.
The new series is being written by Liz Heldens and Dan Thomsen, who are going to be executive producers on the project, along with Karin Slaughter and 3 Arts’ Oly Obst.
Should this pilot get the go-ahead, we should expect to see the series released on ABC and Hulu in the United States. Internationally, this would be released as a Star Original on Disney+.
