Searchlight Pictures Picks Up “Clean Break” Spec
Disney’s Searchlight Pictures has picked up the rights for a new spec called “Clean Break”, which was written by Ryan Brennan, who had previously worked on the short film “Skinned”.
“Clean Break” tells the story of what happens when a fiercely independent pool hustler finally meets her match in a fellow pool shark, their irresistible but destructive attraction to one another leads to deadly consequences that she can’t outrun.
The new film is now in development and is being produced by Scott Free. The project will be overseen by SVP Production Taylor Friedman and Creative Affairs Manager Daniel Yu. Heads of Production and Development DanTram Nguyen and Katie Goodson-Thomas are also working on the film, along with the SVP of Film Sam Roston from Scott Free Productions.
According to Deadline, Searchlight Pictures won the spec in a competitive auction.
No other details on this film have been announced, such as when it will be released, either in cinemas or on Hulu/Disney+.
