
Searchlight Pictures’ “Ella McCay” To Get A Theatrical Release
20th Century Studios has revealed the release date for the brand new film called ‘Ella McCay’, which is about an idealistic young politician who juggles familial issues and a challenging work life while preparing to take over the job of her mentor, the state’s longtime incumbent governor.
The new film stars Rebecca Hall, Emma Mackey, Jamie Lee Curtis, Woody Harrelson, Ayo Edebiri, Albert Brooks, Kumail Nanjiani, Jack Lowden and Spike Fearn.
“Ella McCay” has been directed by James L.Brooks, who has produced the movie along with his producing partners Julie Ansell and Richard Sakai, who have produced it through their Gracie Films banner. Seth Meier is also another executive producer.
“Ella McCay” will be released in cinemas first on September 9th, 2025, before coming to Hulu and Disney+ at a later date. With the Toronto Film Festival taking place just the week before, it’s likely that the movie will get a premiere at the event.
