
Searchlight Pictures Developing “Wild Horse Nine”
Disney’s Searchlight Pictures is developing a new movie called “Wild Horse Nine”, which is being created by Martin McDonagh, who previously worked with the studio on the hit movies, “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and the “Banshees Of Inisherin”.
The upcoming movie will begin filming in March in Rapa Nui, also known around the world as Easter Island.
No plot details for the new film have been revealed, but it’s been reported by Deadline that the movie will star John Malkovich, Mark Ruffalo and Sam Rockwell.
John Malkovich will star in the upcoming Marvel movie The Fantastic Four: First Steps and has previously starred in “Con Air” and “In The Line Of Fire.”
Mark Ruffalo is best known for his role as the Incredible Hulk in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and has also starred in the Searchlight Picture Oscar-winning film, “Poor Things”.
Sam Rockwell has worked with Martin McDonagh on “Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri” and with Searchlight Pictures on “See How They Run” and “Jojo Rabbit”. He also starred in Marvel’s “Iron Man 2”.
“Wild Horse Nine” is going to be produced by Blueprint Pictures and Film4. SVP Production Taylor Friedman and Director of Development and Production Peter Spencer are overseeing the project for Searchlight, who will be reporting to Heads of Production and Development Katie Goodson-Thomas and DanTram Nguyen.
McDonagh will produce, write, and direct the film, with Graham Broadbent, Pete Czernin, and Anita Overland also producing.
No other release details, such as when or how the film will be released, have been announced.
